Crystalline waters framed in long windows and romantic orange colours at sunset reflect the nuances protagonists of the collection.
“Maison blanche E1027” is the name of the villa built by the Irish architect Eileen Gray in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin on the French Riviera, which opens its doors to the Spring Summer 2018 advertising campaign. In constant relationship with the natural elements that surround it, such as the land, the course of the sun and the insistence of winds, they are transformed into real architectural materials for a result with a modernist flavor.
"La Maison en bord de mer" was built between 1926 and 1930. Set on the steep rocky cliff of Cape-Martin, it has an open plan and a flat roof. The white walls have large windows which open from the floor to the top of the house and allow the light to illuminate its interiors. From the transparent roof a spiral staircase, similar to those found on ships, turns gently on itself, leading to the guest rooms, just as if the house was a ship about to sail the Mediterranean. It is in this room that Le Corbusier spent several summers, having fun decorating walls with murals, the same ones that Gray had conceived as totally white, adorned only with the light coming from the sea.
In the year 2000 E-1027 was declared by the French Government a historical monument.
